ACPUNCTURE THERAPY COVENTRY
Welcome to the homepage of Khojesta Qodrat, an experienced Acupuncture practitioner based in Coventry. I have always had an interest in healthcare and human well being. I initially trained and practiced Medicine before training as an acupuncturist. This has given me working knowledge of both conventional medicine and complementary therapies.
I studied acupuncture at the College of Traditional Acupuncture in Leamington Spa. Following my qualification in 1997, I attended a further advanced course in Beijing, China, the heart of acupuncture. I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council and as such, abide by their codes of Safe Practice and Professional Conduct. I hold a full professional indemnity and public liability insurance and am a member of the Acupuncture Fertility Network.
I have a particular interest in treating obstetric and gynaecological problems. I offer specific knowledge and experience in fertility, pregnancy and birth and have successfully assisted many couples to conceive naturally, along side couples undergoing fertility treatments such as IUI, IVF and ICSI. I believe that conventional medicine and therapies such as acupuncture should be used side by side. Therefore my knowledge in medicine will compliment my acupuncture treatments and the two can be successfully combined so that the patient receives the most effective treatment possible.
My time is allocated between my private practice and my work as a Psychological Therapist within the NHS. I work as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing) Practitioner. I am accredited with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, a member of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), and also a member of the EMDR Association UK and Ireland.
I have over 20 years of professional experience as a Pyschological Therapist in the NHS. Currently, I also offer evidence base therapy (CBT and EMDR) to individuals suffering with depression, generalised anxiety, social anxiety, health anxiety, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, low confidence, low self esteem and lack of assertiveness.
